2016 Merriment

The vivid nose reveals nuances of blueberry, ripe cherry, prunes and sweet tobacco. Aromas of black currant, licorice and violets will be ever present after a little aeration with fine hints of graphite in the background.

The “sweet” mouthfeel along with layers of brambly fruits are complemented  by firm acidity and ample tannin. The beautiful acid balance in the mid-palate and noticeable tannin structure in the finish provide this wine with great aging potential and make it the perfect food wine.

This classic Bordeaux-style red blend, with pronounced aromatics and lean acid can lay down for many years to come. When opened, it will be the highlight of your day, but will be even more unforgettable when paired with leg of lamb, steak and kidney pie or an ox tail stew.
Production notes

Our 2016 Merriment consists of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Malbec. The distinctive vineyards of Double Canyon, Les Collines, Phinny Hill and Wallula come together in this beautiful rendition of our flagship wine. The terroir of each vineyard block provides its own character, forming the unique identity of this wine. These different vineyard lots aged in 89% French oak, and 11% American oak for 20 months. The 16 most integrated and expressive barrels were selected and blended together prior to bottling. This wine matured in bottle for 14 months prior to release.
