The 2010 vintage had a cool but consistent growing season. Those of us that were in the vineyards regularly and managed crop load and yields were rewarded for their efforts. The cool temperatures really locked in in great acidity at lower sugar levels for a classic balance, mouthfeel, and structure.
This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon is a great example. It carries aromas of dark fruit, black cherries, black currant, and cola. In the mouth, rich textures are woven with those dark fruit flavors as well as some vanilla, toasty oak, and mocha. The generous finish is reminiscent of a dark chocolate raspberry truffle.
This wine is drinking nicely now, but will benefit from some cellar time.
